Breaking Dams

What do you know about dams?

I discovered that dams are often built to subvert and divert the flow of water. Meditating on this, the enemies plot was revealed!

Let's examine these two words: Subvert means to "undermine power and authority", and divert means to "draw away attention."

The tactic is simple: Dam up the flow and present a decoy.

I believe dams have been built in the lives of many believers to prevent them from experiencing abundant life, but in Jesus' name, they are about crumble.

John 7:38 says, "Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them."

This place within us Jesus refers to is the originating point where the move of God begins. Before we can move others toward God, we must first be moved by God.

The river spoken of is a powerful, rushing current that saturates, purifies and satisfies. Jesus alone is the source of this refreshing, life-giving water.

You cannot have life without Jesus. You cannot have revival without Jesus. Many Christians are living under the constant weight of anxiety, fear and depression—a sure sign the the river is not flowing.

There is good news: The devil cannot stop the move of God! Hallelujah! He can, however, interfere with you experiencing it, subverting and diverting through distractions and decoys—damming you up with the cares of this world and the worries of life.

But I have more good news!

Historically, many dams fail on account of one simple ingredient: rain. When the rainy seasons set in, the water levels increase, causing dams to burst. Failure comes when the increase is beyond the the capacity to restrain.

Receive this word! The dams are about to break!

The places where the enemy has set up barriers and limitations are about to be overwhelmed by the coming rain that will sweep throughout our land, even in the midst of difficulty, hardship and persecution. Where people once said "the land is dry," the rains will come and overwhelm the dams. Places where the enemy tried to undermine and challenge authority will become the places of empowerment and altars of worship.

The diversions and decoys will be subdued by the rain. I see a generation rising, even now, who will cry out, "Give us the genuine presence of God; We want the real thing!"

If you feel stopped up and blocked, keep believing in Jesus. His promises are true, and rivers shall flow! Do not let the enemy divert you from the real thing. Pray for the latter rains to crash through the dams! They are about to break!
