The Church Is Entering a Season of Change and Harvest

Here in Montana, the weather in springtime can be all over the place. Recently my husband and I made plans to take a day off, in part because the weather forecast looked promising—sunny and fairly warm for this time of year. But it turned out to be much too windy to enjoy any time outdoors, and by nightfall, 60 mile per hour winds were gusting! As I lay in bed that night, a particularly strong gust hit our house. That's when I heard the Lord say, "The winds of change are blowing!"

Since then the Lord has been speaking to me about having entered a transition period into a new season. I've never had this strong of sense of change coming. We can be lulled into thinking that everything is always going to stay the same as it's been—until it doesn't. We've not only entered a season of change but also of harvest.

The Lesson of the Fig Tree

The Lord has been drawing my attention to the parable of the fig tree recently. Set within the context of the signs of the times and the end of the age, this parable uses nature to illustrate how common sense can tell us what lies ahead. In Matthew 24:32-33, Jesus told His disciples, "Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: When its branch becomes tender and grows leaves, you know that summer is near. So also, when you shall see all these things, you know that it is near, even at the doors."

Friends, I believe if you're paying attention to the signs, common sense tells you it's a good idea to prepare for coming change and harvest—practically as well as spiritually.

Parenting and Prophecy

Whether or not you're a parent, I'm sure you've noticed that all parents parent differently. Some put more emphasis on potty-training and maintaining a regimented schedule for things like naps and feedings. Others might be more focused on things like healthy and organic eating. And still, others are just totally laid back about pretty much everything! There is no right or wrong parenting style—there are many different yet good and valid ways of raising children.

Prophets and prophetic voices are like that too. Some might be more practical, like I am. Others might be much more revelatory, with very little practical application at all. We all see and prophesy in part, so I'm not saying I have all the answers. There is no right or wrong way to prepare for change and coming harvest, there's just what's best for you.

Acceleration and Glory

The coming harvest will be accompanied by a move of God's glory bigger than any we've yet seen. This new season we've entered is also a season of acceleration, and there's a new level of power coming. You might not feel you need this power—but you do. In this new wave of glory, raising the dead will become commonplace and ordinary. We have to be vessels that are prepared to hold this glory.

Sometimes we don't realize how interactive our faith is—we are to ask, seek and knock as well as draw near to God so that He will draw near to us (Matt. 7:7-12, James 4:8).He wants our participation and involvement in this harvest and wave of glory coming.
